I am still pretty new to running. When I was brand new I had no clue how people took along lara bars, Gu packs, car keys, or cell phones on their runs. I was (no joke) rocking a tiny purse on the trail. Embarrassing? Yes. During the Disney Princess ½ Marathon expo I visited several vendors and my husband and I decided to give the Armpocket a try. He bought one for himself in lime green and one for me in (what else?) pink.
Armpockets are small packs that attach to your upper arm. The idea is you place all of your loose articles in the pack so you have everything you need in a small, secure, and convenient place while running/cycling/hiking etc. They may look tiny but as you can see I comfortably fit a phone, lara bar, car keys, tissue, and I-pod in with room to spare.
There are also little slots for your id, credit card, or cash.
They come in a few different styles- pictured is the Sport 20 style. I chose this one because my little I-pod nano fits PERFECTLY! They also come in different sizes to meet the needs of different users. You can get them in several colors too and what stylish runner doesn’t love that?
I have been itching to review the armpockt for quite some time but I wanted to use it as much as possible so I could give an honest well-rounded review. I have been using the Armpocket for almost 3 months and I love it. For me, as I am trying to lose weight, I do not want anything around my waist. I saw loads of options for little belt type packs and those just weren’t for me. I liked the idea of having my “necessary stuff” in one place so the Armpocket really appealed to me.

I used the Armpocket for the first time during the Disney Princess ½ Marathon and have been running with it ever since.
My favorite feature is the clear plastic slot for your I-pod. You can actually touch through the plastic and navigate the controls on your I-pod without ever having to take it out of the Armpocket.
Also, I can truly say it is indeed water resistant as I ran through a downpour with it earlier this week and everything in the Armpocket, including my I-pod, stayed dry. My lone complaint is there can be some minor slippage on the arms. It’s possible that I am not fastening it in just the right spot. With that said, it has never slipped more than once or twice during a run (even a long run) and it has never deterred me from wanting to run with it. I also LOVE that armpockets are made from recycled material. EDIT June 8 2010: After talking with the great people at Armpocket it was suggested I move the armpocket higher on the arm to avoid slippage. After 3 weeks of doing this I can truthfully say it works and my slippage problems are a thing of the past. (You also want to make sure you fasten it snug to the arm without making it uncomfortable of course! )
My husband uses his for both running and cycling. He likes the super bright lime/yellow color since it, along with the reflective strips/piping, makes him more visible to traffic.
As you can see he is a pretty muscular guy and the Armpocket fits him fine. (Also meaning if you have some extra fluff in the arm department you can still rock this!). I think it is so important when a fitness product is both fit and not so fit friendly.
